With a win against Saffron Walden on Friday night and a place in the 3rd round (semi final) of the Melbourn Trophy, Letchworth Camera Club are truly entering uncharted territory.
Dave Stewart was the Judge in this second round match, which consists of each club entering 24 digital images that are marked out of 20, with the highest cumulative score determining the winner.
Initial stages of the competition saw Letchworth take an early lead with 213 points to 206 by the halfway stage. Highlights were 20 points for Garry Neesam with Hertfordshire Hurricane. 19’s were scored by Garry again and Andrew Foden.
After the break Letchworth further extended their 7 point lead. No more 20s this time, but a fantastic three 19s from John Dingemans backed up with another from John Swift. This saw Letchworth the clear winners finishing 12 points ahead with 427 points to 415.
We will face Biggleswade in the next round on Thursday, January 12th at Biggleswade. There will be no club night at Letchworth to allow those that want to, to go to Biggleswade.
